Selective catalytic reduction technology(SCR)

Introduction

Selective catalytic reduction utilizes reducing agents such as ammonia water, urea to selectively react with NOx in flue gas and generate N2 and H2O via a catalyst. Catalyst is a substance that can enhance reaction rate and remained unchanged in composition, quality, and chemical property after the reaction. The main composition of the catalyst used is V2O5 and TiO2.

Main reaction

  • NO/NO2 + NH3 + O2 → N2 + H2O (reaction temperature 200-450℃)

Advantages

  1. High denitrification efficiency (≥90%).
  2. Adapted by most of the large scale thermal power plant. Matured technology with a lot of references.

Application

  1. Boilers under stable operation.
